We have restored this machine to pristeen condition thanks to Rufus Howard, Gary Goldsberry, and Max Faulkner. The collection of machines continues to grow and our most novel piece is Dr. The PRA and its members have been the main source of support over the last 24 years. In 1997 the museum moved to PRA Mentone Airport, Mentone, Indiana the home base of the Popular Rotorcraft Association. Many other donations of machines, parts, and documentation have followed. Through donations, a Bensen B-9 "Lil Zipster" was acquired. Les Smithhart of Dayton,Ohio donated a Umbaugh Air & Space 18-A. CarterCopters, LLC Sport Copter USA Little Wing Autogyro Rotary Air Force Marketing Inc. The museum moved in 1991 into 3 T-hangars at Brookville Airpark, Brookville, Ohio. Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Popular Rotorcraft Association (PRA) American Helicopter Museum & Education Center Cradle of Aviation Museum Industry Supporters: Jesse Davidson Aviation Archives Groen Brothers Aviation, Inc. The foundation was laid and Archimedes Rotorcraft & V/STOL Museum achieved 501(c)(3) status in January, 1990. Founder, Glenn Bundy, donated a Bensen B7 "Gyroglider" originally built in 1959, and Walt Bullerwell of Clarksville, Tennessee donated a Bensen B7m "Gyrocopter" and a museum was born. The museum started its life in Middletown, Ohio by renting a T-hangar at Hook Field, (Middletown Municiple Airport), which is just south of Dayton, Ohio - the Birthplace of Aviation. Archimedes is unique in being the only rotorcraft museum that devotes interest in homebuilt rotorcraft along with type certified machines and also other V/STOL devices such as flying platforms. The museum also gathered support from members of the Dayton chapter of the American Helicopter Society. CRA is chapter #40 of the Popular Rotorcraft Association a worldwide organization of owners and homebuilders of Gyroplanes and Helicopters. Was founded in 1989 by six members of the Cincinnati Rotorcraft Association (CRA).
