Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Popular Rotorcraft Association (PRA) American Helicopter Museum & Education Center Cradle of Aviation Museum Industry Supporters: Jesse Davidson Aviation Archives Groen Brothers Aviation, Inc. The foundation was laid and Archimedes Rotorcraft & V/STOL Museum achieved 501(c)(3) status in January, 1990. Founder, Glenn Bundy, donated a Bensen B7 "Gyroglider" originally built in 1959, and Walt Bullerwell of Clarksville, Tennessee donated a Bensen B7m "Gyrocopter" and a museum was born. The museum started its life in Middletown, Ohio by renting a T-hangar at Hook Field, (Middletown Municiple Airport), which is just south of Dayton, Ohio - the Birthplace of Aviation. Archimedes is unique in being the only rotorcraft museum that devotes interest in homebuilt rotorcraft along with type certified machines and also other V/STOL devices such as flying platforms. The museum also gathered support from members of the Dayton chapter of the American Helicopter Society. CRA is chapter #40 of the Popular Rotorcraft Association a worldwide organization of owners and homebuilders of Gyroplanes and Helicopters. Was founded in 1989 by six members of the Cincinnati Rotorcraft Association (CRA).
